Elsa Deutschbein is uniquely experienced in treating:
Medical trauma
Sexual assault/abuse
Relational trauma
Early childhood attachment trauma
Neglect
This treatment is available for adults and children ages 5-18.

Perinatal mental health focuses on addressing concerns relating to the entire perinatal period: pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. Common concerns are Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS) and medical trauma. Perinatal mental health counseling provides psychoeducation on mental health and the perinatal period, mental health hygiene, identifying supports, and specific psychotherapeutic interventions to address anxiety, depression, and past or present relating to medical intervention and body safety.
This therapy is available to women, men, and non-binary individuals in the perinatal period.
-
Perinatal mental health also includes mental health concerns relating to fertility, pregnancy loss, and pregnancy termination. This treatment is based in somatic interventions to assist in stress-management and grief processing, exploration of meaning, and redefining identity in the face of grief and the uncontrollable.
This therapy is available to men and women of any age experiencing fertility / grief and loss.
-
Families are built in many different ways. Adoption and Fostering come with specific attachment based challenges that may include addressing trauma, family dynamics, and emotional regulation. Therapy may be for the child and / or the parents and is based in attachment theory, infant mental health, trauma treatment, and somatic interventions.
This therapy is available to adult and child clients 0-18.

Therapists need therapy too! There is no judgement here, no matter how different our treatment styles are. What matters is trust, collaboration, and, usually, a sense of humor. Whether addressing secondary trauma, past trauma, or perinatal concerns, therapy for therapists means reflective practices, somatic awareness, and nerding out over the complexity of the human body and mind.
